Mums HK diary #3. Sun 5th of Oct.

A visit to the market in Temple Street Night market in Jordan. Ricky haggled for a handbag the start price was 150 Hong Kong dollars we paid 80 so a good price (about 6 pound 20.) We walked through the temple then through Kowloon Park it has a big count down clock. Later that day we wanted to go to the Avenue of Stars at the south end of Kowloon peninsula to see and enjoy the famous view of the skyline on Hong Kong island, but a heavy monsoon rain stopped us so we went for a shelter against it in a pub called; "Ned Kelly's last stand" in Hankow Road, and we had to have another drink in there instead. Ned Kelly’s father was an Irish convict in Australia. Ned Kelly got in to trouble with the Australian authorities and became an outlaw. He was convicted to death in 1880. We enjoyed the friendly service in the pub. We caught the train to Choi Hung and the mini bus back to Sai Kung, and after that a taxi to Tai Wan Village where we now live for 3 weeks.
