Football will save the Earth.

I wonder how many will believe that this is serious. But imagine if it was?

Saturday 7 December 2013

Christmas dinner on the 7th.

Has been for some years now, the tradition or the ritual to go to the Swiss Chalet for a Christmas dinner with some friends. It started years ago when we went with The Cleator's, but they have left and we had to find new friends to share a pre Christmas dinner with. They arrived in the summer of 2012 so in the last two years we have been sharing with the Summerton's.

Sure they have been on these sites previously, and the funny thing is that it is kind of always related to dining and food.

The Swiss Chalet is to be found in Tsim Sha Tsui and as the name reveals, it is a Swiss restaurant serving good quality rustic Swiss food.

It was a nice cozy evening where the feeling inside is warm and the mind thinks it is freezing outside, which of orse it isn't.

Before we got here it was another trip to the markets for some gift shopping.

What ever happens afterwards?

Good quote!

The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life. - Muhammad Ali

True.

In respect of Nelson Mandela.

Nelson Mandela die down the 6th of December. Respect for that man and what he did to end a society based on idiocy and bigotry. The Apartheid system. I remember it well in the late 1980's as a student in the town of Århus in Denmark.
Once I was living in a collective with an Australian layer, who did some work in Denmark for the ANC, and he went to Angola to some conference and when he came back, he proudly showed a picture of himself with Bishop Desmund Tutu, who at that time still was the person who symbolized the fight against the apartheid regime in South Africa.

Hong Kong Christmas decor

Let's start a new series; Christmas decorations.
In a place like Hong Kong where it never snows, it can be hard to obtain that certain Christmas feeling one automatically gets when it is freezing and dark outside, and the only light is from the myriads of silly Christmas displays spread around towns, markets and shops.
Here I will try to capture some of the Hong Kong efforts out in the art of Christmas decor.Sunshine Plaza, Ma On Shan.

On the go blogging.

Normally when blogging I am sitting down in my home or at a cafe, a restaurant or hotel. But now I am on a bus. Let us see if it works.

Tuesday 3 December 2013

Heading for midweek.

Early morning from our balcony due south. The day is approaching with from the east, bringing yet another stunning day upon us. There is not so much more to it. The rest is mainly work. And the evenings used for relaxing and sometimes more work. It is in the times and so much of our work is digitally, so it never stops, not even at home as you are still able to continue working.

Good thing is that I also find time to do leisure stuff on my digital devices. Well it is good for me.

Sunday 1 December 2013

December 1. 2013.

If the weather stays like this, I am not sorry that we are having a stay-cation this Christmas. How can it be better than this.

Warm, not hot and humid, clear sky and low pollution. Awesome. Am in the house but at the same time outside coz I can have the big doors to the balcony open, and can enjoy the view and the warmth of the sun. To make the Sunday even perfecter, if that's a word, I have made a fresh pot of Chinese tea and are about to head out for a big walk in the country park.

WifeX is at a workshop at the "Gold Coast" of Hong kong, so I am on my own. Yesterday was kind of a Christmas shopping day for me. It all started at our own school where the yearly Christmas fair was on. Later I took my time going through some of the frenzy busy Mong Kok markets on a hunt for some small and bigger presents.

These markets can be exhausting, but they are also very entertaining and going through them is like a journey into mankinds urge to get cheap stuff, you do not really need, even cheaper. If you do not have time, it is a hazzle and frustrating as you can't really get anywhere fast coz of the crowds, but if you do have time and are patient, you can have a good couple of hours and can find good bargains. I enjoy going there and find stuff for presents and then just observe life going on.

If you think I am going to tell what all got into my backpack, you are going to be disappointed, as I am not. However one thing I can give away here is that it was very heavy and the amount of money in my pocket got decimated.

Happy first Sunday in advent.
