Here it is; the first traktor I've seen in Hong Kong

Honest to god. I've been looking, but serious I've never seen a real traktor yet here in Hong Kong. Admitted, Hong Kong is not the biggest farming land, but anyway; you always can use a traktor for something. I found this one at the Sha Tin Racecourse where part of the Olympics will take place next year. Because it's the first it gets this honur, coz the first is always what you'll remember.

Ohne England - fahren andere zur EM!

Lange stand es ja eigentlich fest das sich Daenemark fuer die Euro 2008 nicht qualificieren koennte. Nach der niederlage in Århus im oktober gegen Spanien, war nur noch 1% chance das es den Daenen gelingen sollte. Aber wie immer stirbt ja die hoffnung zuletzt und als komplett naiver habe ich doch auf den 1% gehofft und das die doch gegen Nordirland gewinnen wurde und Schweden und Spanien unentdchieden, und hoffen das Nordirland dann spaeter Spanien besiegen wuerde und Lettland die Schweden, undSDaenemark waere dabei gewesen. Aber Fussball ist gott sei dank nicht fuer Mathematik freaks, entschieden wird auf den Rasen und am ende stehen die im Finale, die durch das ganze turnier am konstantesten war. Also habe ich mich am 10 November als halbschotte gefuehlt, und gedacht das ich dann halt naechstes jahr mit den schotten fiebern koennte.. Es war nicht ganz utopish. Schottland haette bis dahin sehr gut gespielt, gegen Frankreich 2 mal gewonnen, und zuhause alle bisherigen spiele gewonnen. Und die Italiener, halt wie immer; nicht gut gespielt, aber sich trotzdem irgendwie durchgemoegelt und am ende doch mit der moeglichkeit sich mit einen Sieg in Glasgow zu qualificieren. Zuhause haben wir uns dann beide ein bischen hochgeschraupt. Catriona haette stimmungs berichte von zu hause pr e-mail bekommen und im internet reportagen und berichte aus Schottland gelesen und beide waren wir ueberzeugt; das wird schon klappen. Uns sogar haben wir uns vorgestellt aus Deutschland viele dank sagen zu bekommen, weil Schottland das geschafft habe was die Deutschen nie richtig bewaeltigen koennte; die eliminierung von Italien. Hochgeschraubt haben wir uns auch am 10 november, mit der vorraussicht das England auch nicht dabei waere. Stell euch mal das vor; Schottland nimmt teil in einer endrunde und England sitzt zuhause und trinkt Tee. Waere wohl auch die Deutschen lieb gewesen, weil die ja wie immer sich mehr darmit bescheftigen wie mann den sogenannten grossen im Weltfussball vermeiden auf ihrem weg, als zu sagen; wenn wir gewinnen wollen, muessen wir halt immer den naechsten besiegen, wem es auch sein mag. Mag ja eine behauptung sein, aber ist es trotzdem nicht komisch das mit dem remis gegen Wales, die chanchen besser stehen einen starken gegner in die vorrunde zu vermeiden?
Catriona hat mich gefragt; “koennen Schott;and ueberhaupt verlieren?’ Ich meinte ja, und hat gesagt;”wenn die Italiener am anfang einen toor schiesst, dann wird es echt schwierig.” Ich koennte mich aber nicht vorstellen das sich die schotten das erlauben wuerde. Das spiel war in den medien als wichtigstes spiel des jahr hundert gekuerrt worden, und alle wussten dass nur eine sehr konzentrierte einsatz in frage kommen wuerde um das ziel zu erreichen. Wie es spaeter ausging ist wohl allen bekannt. Italien kriegt, fast wie immer, ein total unberechtigen freistoss geschenkt und macht mit der aller letzten action im spiel auch noch das toor zum sieg. Da sass ich dann, mit zwei schotten und zwei englaender in einer bar in Sai Kung, um 4 uhr morgens und haben mich geaergert. Aber da war ja noch die hoffnung Daenemark schlaegt Nordirland und Russland schlaeght Israel und auch die Englaender sind raus. Als ich nachhause kam habe ich den rechner angeschmissen und kicker.de aufgerufen; Pustekuchen – Isreal haette England einen rettungsboot ins wasser geleitet. Verdammt, dann schaffen die es doch die Englaender, obwohl die es eigentlich nicht verdient haette, wie Italien. Und Daenemark verlohr natuerlich auch in Norditland und kurzlich gaebe es die moeglichkeit das sich als einsiges land in Grossbritanien, sich Nordirland fuer die Euro 2008 qualifizieren koennte.
Alles schnee von gestern und eigentlich unwichtig. Ich bin jetzt fuer Tscheschen, Spanien oder Schweden, weil die haben ja alle nie etwas gewonnen.

Too much for one broken leg!

It is very tiring to move on crutches, and to go into school every day demand a lot of power. After the first week Catriona had to realize that something had to happen, other wise she would be exhausted long before the Christmas holiday. What to do to save energy for the Christmas break in one month? We found the answer in the amazing world of Calvin and Hobbs; "the human duplicator". Calvin uses this gadget to avoid school, Catriona saw the purpose of it to delegate the physical distress of her body to more clones or duplicates. Calvin used an old TV box, we used one of the remaining carboard boxes from our shipment, a CD Marker, some fancy metal grey sello-tape, an old scruffy walkman and of course seedless grapes to create this human duplicate box, so now Catriona just need to go to school one day a week herself. But it is sometimes very hard to know who is the real one, not to mention the shopping i have to do. So I bought myself a new hat to cover the grey hair.

LOST

If this had been a newspaper we would have been broke long time ago. No daily issues and interesting news and people start losing interest in the magazine and don’t read it anymore. Maybe that’s also going to happen with this blogspot, cos it have been too long since you could read something new and interesting on this site. We can’t even make an excuse like underpaid journalists on strike or a cut of power supply from Mainland China or anything else.
No it is simply as boring as it sounds; the reason why nothing had happened on this site for too long is that one of the authors has been busy being a housewife and the other has discovered the secrets and fascination of face book. Ok, we’re lost in the situation of a broken leg, but thank god for wireless Internet access Catriona is able to access the web from the bed or the sofa, or wherever she's resting her sore leg, so she can be in touch with her school and colleagues . Every silver lining has it's cloud because ever since we’ve had this wonder Apple Airport extreme buzzing in our house, I have not able to access the web with our old PC which served our Internet duties and us for a long time, and then this site suffers from the lack of attention. I could do it from the Mac Book then; of course I could do that, but after a long day as a housewife I just want to relax and put my paws downside up and watch DVDs with my wife who has being answering school related e-mails the whole day. And because this Mac Book at the same time serves us as a DVD player, again the blogsite must suffer and be left unattended, while we are lost in "LOST".
We have had lots of visitors the last two weeks, and everybody feels that they should do something to keep the inpatient patient entertained, so they bring bags and bags of DVD’s. And among the first load we found the first season of “LOST”. 48 people survives a airplane crash on a mysterious island somewhere in the pacific, 25 episodes of excitement, betrayal, love, liars and obsession, and two addicted inhabitants in Tai wan village; we were really Lost in LOST. But now, we’ve got no more, the first season is over and I’m going to search for season two so that our curiosity can be fulfilled. But what if Catriona suddenly gets better and has to go to work again? Then we cannot watch episode after episode to 2 o’clock in the night. But then I can start looking for a job again and I could find some time to do more for this site and “LOST” lost -s o to speak and that is good, cos all what we want is getting Catriona well and mobile again.
