Boquerones, Chocos and Patatas Aliñadas, what more do one need?
Have reached El Puerto de Santa Maria. The first long stay destination on our Vuelta de España 2013. Have rented an apartment here for the next 9 days. Arrived in fact yesterday and stayed one night in a hotel and did some first hand exploring of the city. And had a wee trip to one of my absolute favourite cities; Cádiz.
Have had the first two lunches with the fresh and food seafood available here, among that the Boquerones. Small fried anshovies on a plate. Maybe it doesn't sound as good as it in fact is but trust me, it is. Could eat that every day and probably might. To accompanying that, fresh salad and Patatas Aliñadas. What that is? Basically it is cold boiled potatoes, dressed in a olive oil/ vinaigrette dressing, onions, parsley and served with a big splash of tuna on top. Last but not least, Chocos. Deep fried cuttlefish, but like fresh fresh and tasty. Buon appertite.
